Celebrate ways to use food well and waste less during a free, family-friendly afternoon at Chuckanut Brewery!
Use Food Well: A Community Celebration brings the community together for games, activities, food, education and practical ideas that can help households save food, save money and prevent waste.
Activities include:
- Bread to Beer – taste beer made using local surplus bread
- Food waste trivia and games
- Prizes and giveaways
- Skagit Valley College Food Truck
- Tips and ideas for saving food, saving money and preventing waste
- Food waste prevention resources and education
The Skagit County Solid Waste Division will also be on-site with an outreach and education table featuring information and resources to help residents prevent food waste at home.
This community celebration serves as a finale to Food Waste Prevention Week, September 28 through October 4, highlighting simple ways each household can make better use of the food it buys and prepares.
