Join Skagit Conservation District for an educational Farm Tour at a small family-run nut, horse and chicken farm in Mount Vernon!
Participants will have the opportunity to explore the farm, including its historic filbert trees, meet the farmers and learn more about practical approaches to caring for agricultural properties and livestock.
The tour will include discussion and opportunities to ask questions about topics such as:
• Heavy use area protection
• Manure storage and composting
• Chore efficiency
• Conservation practices for farm operations
• Skagit Conservation District's cost-share program and how it can help fund improvements to your operation
Whether you're currently operating a farm, caring for livestock or simply interested in learning more about local agricultural practices and conservation resources, this tour offers a chance to see these practices firsthand and connect with Skagit Conservation District staff.
