Have a broken household item you’ve been meaning to fix? Before throwing it away, bring it to the NorthWest Free Repair Event at Bellingham Makerspace!
NorthWest Free Repair is a volunteer group dedicated to conserving resources and keeping repairable items out of landfills. Volunteers will evaluate broken or non-functioning items and, when possible, work alongside you to repair them for free.
Participants must remain present and take part during the repair process, making this a great opportunity to learn how your item works and how it can be fixed.
Examples include:
While not every item can be repaired, volunteers will also help identify recycling options for items that cannot be fixed.
Repair evaluations and volunteer repair assistance are free. Some basic parts and materials may also be available. If a specialized replacement part is required, the item owner is responsible for purchasing it before the repair can be completed.
Kids are welcome with a responsible adult.
If available, bring the item’s owner’s manual and any parts associated with the repair.
