Building an Inclusive Workforce: Disability Awareness, Employment & Employer Resources
***REGISTRATION OPENS THE FIRST OF THE MONTH***
Join us for an informative and practical conversation focused on building more inclusive workplaces and connecting employers with resources that can support both businesses and employees.
Our featured speaker, Jeannine Chandler, Statewide Business Relations Manager with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), will share valuable information about disability awareness, inclusive employment practices, and the resources available to employers throughout Washington State.
Topics may include recruiting, hiring, and retaining employees with disabilities; reasonable accommodations; assistive technology; job coaching; supported employment; and ways businesses can partner with DVR and community organizations to strengthen their workforce and create more inclusive employment opportunities.
We'll also welcome special guest David Wilder, Advocacy Specialist with Chinook Enterprises, who will share his personal experiences and perspective, offering attendees an important look at inclusion, advocacy, and employment through a lived-experience lens.
Whether you're an employer looking to expand your hiring practices, a business leader interested in creating a more inclusive workplace or simply looking to better understand the resources available within our community, this luncheon will provide practical information, valuable connections, and strategies you can put into action.
We'll enjoy lunch from Olive Garden, making this a great opportunity to connect, learn, and engage with fellow Chamber members and community leaders.
Thank you to our November Luncheon Supporters, Chinook Enterprises and April Patterson with Navy Vet Agent- Realty ONE Group, for supporting this important conversation and investing in opportunities that strengthen our local business community.
Join us as we learn more about the tools, partnerships, and resources available to help businesses build workplaces where more people have the opportunity to contribute, succeed, and thrive.
