Get ready for a night of food-themed fun and friendly competition at Family Food Fights Night!
Join the Burlington Public Library and Skagit Food Waste Coalition for an interactive evening designed to help families have fun while learning simple ways to use food well and prevent food waste.
Race through a game of Supermarket Sweep, collecting ingredients for recipes, mix up a special drink, get a little messy with hands-on activities, and enjoy crafts and other food-themed fun.
The Skagit County Solid Waste Division will also host a mini worm bin workshop, where families can build a small worm composting bin to take home, complete with red wiggler worms! Learn how worms can turn food scraps into nutrient-rich compost for indoor and outdoor plants while helping keep food waste out of the garbage.
Attendees will also be entered into a drawing to win kitchen gadgets.
This event is part of the local Skagit Food Waste Prevention Campaign, leading into Food Waste Prevention Week, September 28 through October 4.
