Berry Dairy Days Launches First Ever Hot Air Balloon Glow Spectacular 

Burlington, WA - This summer, visitors from across the region are invited to experience something entirely new as the 89th annual Berry Dairy Days Festival introduces its first ever Hot Air Balloon Glow Spectacular, lighting up the skies over Skagit River Park on Friday, June 19, 2026. 
 
As part of the festival’s Friday night kickoff, the Balloon Glow Spectacular will begin at approximately 9:30 PM, offering a one of a kind visual experience that blends calm, wonder, and community connection in a way rarely seen up close. 

Unlike traditional high energy events, the glow is intentionally slower and more immersive. As twilight settles over the park, 4 to 5 massive hot air balloons will begin to inflate across the field. One by one, pilots ignite their burners, transforming each balloon into a towering lantern glowing from within. The result is a rhythmic display of color, light, and movement that fills the night sky. 

What makes this experience especially unique is how close attendees can get. Guests are invited to walk among the balloons, watch the crews at work, speak with pilots, and feel the warmth of the burners as they bring each balloon to life. The glow is expected to last approximately one hour, creating a relaxed, come and go atmosphere that welcomes families, friends, and visitors of all ages. 

“This is the kind of experience that feels simple but unforgettable,” said Stephanie Rees, the President of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce. “It is peaceful, interactive, and something you do not often get the chance to see this close. Being the first year, there is also something really special about being part of the beginning of what we hope becomes a new community tradition.” 

The Hot Air Balloon Glow Spectacular is free to attend and serves as a signature kickoff to a full weekend of Berry Dairy Days festivities, including the Grand Parade, live entertainment, vendor fair, and more.
