The Celtic Arts Foundation is pleased to host a benefit concert for the North Stars Chamber Orchestra to fundraise for young musicians performing in Ireland this summer! Join us at the Summer Quarterly Ceilidh and help a group of young musicians raise funds to perform in historical sites in Ireland this summer! None of the members of the youth orchestra have ever been to Ireland, and this provides a wonderful opportunity to explore Irish culture through music. Local youth musicians will also have the enriching opportunity to form social and artistic connections with Irish youth musicians. While in Ireland, the group will be performing at the Galway Cathedral, St. John’s Parish Church in Limerick, and Abbey Presbyterian Church in Dublin. The North Stars Chamber Orchestra respectfully requests your participation to create a wonderful cultural and musical exchange with Irish young musicians this coming summer. Mount Baker Youth Symphony (Bellingham, WA), Fidalgo Youth Symphony (Mount Vernon) and the touring ensemble of North Stars Chamber Orchestra have produced many concerts in Washington, concert tours to China, Portugal, Prague, Vienna, and Finland. The musicians are very inspired by the beautiful country of Ireland, where they will perform and tour next summer from June 18-29. The North Stars Chamber Orchestra will perform a highly varied repertoire at the Summer Quarterly Ceilidh, including Celtic folk music, tangos, and music by Vivaldi, Grieg, Puccini, Gershwin, Lalo, and Bach. Admission to this concert is free. Donations are tax deductible and will go to PCMA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Please RSVP at www.celticarts.org. in order to help us ensure there is enough seating for all who want to attend.
