Skagit Symphony and the Lincoln Theatre present a Valentine's Weekend of Music, Movie, and Amore!
The Lincoln Theatre and Skagit Symphony pair up to bring you this Sunday Matinee event! It's the magic of tiny, little things: live music, bellini cocktails, and a romance to remember.
Grab a date, because this is a sign...for you to join us this Valentine's Weekend for the classic rom-com Sleepless in Seattle, bookended by music by the musicians of Skagit Symphony.
- Intro: Musicians of Skagit Symphony: Shannon Coyne and Michael Wheatley - Skagit Symphony's musicians begin this event with a fun, eclectic mix of music arranged for violin and cello, blending classical favorites with beloved songs from film, folk, and pop. You’ll hear everything from the soaring lyricism of "O Mio Babbino Caro" to the nostalgic warmth of "Moon River" and "Let It Be." "Ashokan Farewell" brings a touch of Americana, and a few lively Irish fiddle tunes add energy and spirit to round out a relaxed, welcoming program of feel-good music.
- Looney Tunes classic cartoon: What's Opera, Doc?
- Break: Musicians of Skagit Symphony: The Goldfinch Quartet is comprised of members of the Skagit Symphony who perform at Symphony Events and private engagements, sharing their eclectic style which ranges from Vivaldi to Taylor Swift. They will be playing romantic music to get people in the mood, as well as songs from the Sleepless in Seattle soundtrack such as "Stardust," "Over the Rainbow," "A Kiss to Build a Dream On," and "An Affair to Remember."
- Main Feature: Sleepless in Seattle
- Outro: Alhambra - This new flute and guitar duo is Stephanie Bethea and Al Smith. From Piazolla and Brubeck to Pachelbel and Bach...sit back, relax, let your imagination lead the way.
