Art in the Forest with Friends of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands

Explore the connection between art, science and the natural world during Art in the Forest, presented by the Museum of Northwest Art and Friends of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands.

With more than 50 miles of trails and nearly 3,000 acres to explore, the Anacortes Community Forest Lands have long inspired local artists and nature enthusiasts. Participants will take part in a slow-paced forest experience exploring how an ever-changing landscape can inspire artists, scientists and all of us.

Come prepared for walking and sitting outdoors, and be ready to create some forest-inspired art along the way. Participants are welcome to bring their own sketchbook, and basic art supplies will also be provided.

This program is offered in connection with MoNA's exhibition Surge: A Geography of Flow, which brings artists and scientists together to create data-informed work examining the movement of people, plants, animals and natural elements.
