DESCRIPTION:Step into a world of stories\, legends and a little Renaissance magic at the first annual Fables Faire: A Festival of Myth & Legend\, coming to downtown La Conner on Saturday\, September 12!\n\nPresented through a collaboration between La Conner Thrives and The Washington Shakespearean Festival\, this free\, one-day celebration invites visitors to experience the characters\, stories\, music and traditions that have inspired generations. Come as you are or dress as your favorite character from a fable\, myth or legend!\n\nThe Washington Shakespearean Festival will bring its Glob Theatre to La Conner\, with performances from The BomBARDS Shakespearean Improv Troupe and the Soccs & Buskin Ren Faire Band. Guests can also enjoy demonstrations from historical re-creation groups showcasing arts and crafts\, clothing and armor\, music\, games and other pieces of history.\n\nJoin in the fun by dancing around the Maypole\, singing a Round\, trying your hand at spinning wool and exploring La Conner's local shops\, restaurants and gathering places throughout the day.\n\nLampstand Theatre will also bring its production of A Midsummer Tide's Dream to Fables Faire\, adding another theatrical adventure to the day's celebration of myth and legend.\n\nMembers of the community are invited to become part of the Faire\, too! Musicians\, storytellers\, performers\, potters\, crafters\, weavers\, armorers and others interested in demonstrating their talents are encouraged to contact La Conner Thrives about participating or volunteering.\n\nCome for the stories.
