SUMMARY:Business Education Session: Structuring Conversations for Accountability
DESCRIPTION:When someone isn't following through on commitments\, most of us either avoid the conversation or approach it in ways that damage the relationship. This session introduces a three-part foundation that transforms how you prepare for difficult conversations. \n\n\n\nYou'll learn how to clarify what you want the conversation to create (not just stop)\, identify what matters more than staying comfortable\, and connect with what you genuinely want for the other person. Through guided reflection and practical journaling prompts\, you'll leave with a clear framework for speaking your truth while protecting the relationship. \n\n\n\nKey Takeaways: \n\nParticipants will leave with: \n\n Three grounding questions to ask before any difficult conversation \n\n Completed journaling prompts for a specific situation they're facing \n\n Language for inviting conversations that feel collaborative\, not confrontational \n\n A reframe: silence harms relationships more than prepared honesty \n\n\n\nAbout the Presenter: \n\nErin is the Founder and CEO of WE Ignite\, Erin Long Coaching\, as well as Fortuity Coaching and Facilitation. In partnership with Rachelle Marie Coaching\, she was also instrumental in starting WINGS\, a morning networking group for women in business in Skagit County. She has 25+ years of experience in leadership and community engagement\, as well as over 15 years of experience in coaching leaders with over 1\,600 direct coaching hours\, and thousands of hours as a leadership and coaching skills trainer. Erin supports her clients in preparing for and having straightforward conversations at home and in the workplace. Her clients appreciate the connection\, commitment\, power\, and possibility Erin holds for her clients as they create lives they desire. In her free time\, Erin is an avid reader who loves to travel\, spend time with her grandchildren\, and has recently found solo vacations to be exceptionally wonderful. \n\n\n\nThis session is a perk of chamber membership - open to all members and their employees. If you are not a member\, you can still attend for a $5 minimum donation. Please reach out to emily@burlington-chamber.com if you are interested or have any questions.
